Thought he would run outside to help feed, he figured a hat & boots were enough, needless to say he didn't stay out long! It was a cold night

No peeking Shelly!

This blogging is kinda fun...except it may take over my life! hahah I just finished Shelly's baby, Addison's blanky, so I thought I would share! I really am not that great at sewing, but I stick with it because it is teaching me a little bit of patience, and usually I love the final product (I'm slowly getting better) I haven't took pics of anything in the past, but thought maybe I should start so I can remember some of these crazy projects...

Shelly likes retro colors, so I thought this was appropriately bright ♥ I think it's cuter in real life though with the minkee and flannel fabrics :)

$150 caught running down the lane ~ day 1!

Last night I was looking out the window & I see the piggies & dog running down the lane, Greg was of course just getting out of the shower..so he yells at me to go get them back to the pen...alright, can't be that hard, their just babies. I step out on the front porch & start yelling, "pig, pig, pig!" you know I have seen Babe & that's what she does so I figured that's the way you herd a pig...hahah well it worked! they turned right around & started following me, I got them right to the calf pen but they couldn't quite make the clearance to jump inside, and seriously I really couldn't pick it up, could I?? Well I tried,(really a feeble attempt) and as I told you before pigs have an alarmingly loud squeal that really gives me nightmares...so the pig wouldn't jump in the pen, and I couldn't dare to pick it up :/ The pigs ran off to the yard & I made the girls go tell their father to hurry and get the heck out here so he could pick em up....It was quite funny watching Greg chase a pig!

Boedy is such a funny boy, he just throws on whatever's by the front door and runs outside...as you can see he has his sisters shoes on...one of each! ...whatever works I guess...

Seriously Greg, we are buying what???

I think Greg is bound and determined to make me a real farmgirl....we already have cows, chickens, a goat (which is now a cow- long story), horses... and now today he decided that we must get a couple of pigs so that we will be able to fill our freezer again in the fall...I was a bit hesitant at first because I didn't want the kids getting all attached to the lil squealers just to realize that later they will be porkchops and sausage links. Rationality set in though when I talked to the kids - Layla (the leader ha!)was pretty much like yeah, who cares mom we will feed them lots of stuff so they will make good ham! yeah this is the same kid who everyday begs me to butcher the rooster.. so in the end I realized it was probably only ME who would somehow become attached.. so we all piled in the car & you can see this is what we came home with - poopie & stinkie is what I like to call them! Stinkie is the one with the white stripe of course :)
I never quite realized how alarmingly loud lil pigs can be...this pic greg is laughing because I was kinda (slightly) freaking out about how loud it was... you can see him giving him a little extra squeeze just to freak me out a little more... oh greggie!

Cute lil pig butts!

Boedy kept kicking them so they would move (telling ya I have farm kids!) then when the pig would run, he would say, "look, pig egg!", then he would look up at us & laugh.. Funny that he would think a pig lays a egg!?!?!

While we were out and about, we collected some eggs...I mean from the chickens, that is..yummy!

Fun, Fun, Fun.. when I think what more can this farm bring us....well, hold that thought.......

Blogging?!?!?

I guess I will start doing another senseless thing with my time, but hey it's better than Farmville! (which I have finally, successfully, stopped doing!) I decided to start a blog because 1-I found out you can print them into these cute journals! Since I have become so far behind in scrapbooking, I just can't seem to get into it anymore. So I thought this may be a way to record our little family moments and print it all, without having to get all the supplies out (and have the kiddos dig through it!) 2) ahh, blogstalking! Don't pretend like you don't do it too! I figured maybe I could get an in this way...hahaha 3) I want to be able to follow all those crafty, fun pages..and food ones too! People come up with the cutest stuff! (and I want to too!)
Hopefully I will be able to keep up with it!
